The ability to add ratings, keywords, descriptions, and more to their precious Affinity Photo files. ![]() I get that many people have simpler needs, but Lightroom absolutely has the power to do what I am doing, so I have to believe there are other mad people like me.The NeoFinder DAM tool can now set keywords, ratings, descriptions and many more text fields for Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer files. A free NeoFinder demo version can be downloaded from the NeoFinder website, the price for new users starts at 29,00 (EUR). My current - woefully incomplete - keyword list is 2,721 lines long fully expanded. Many aircraft types come in tons of minor sub-variants which, so far, I have decided to stay away from. Then there are my location hierarchies - Frank Kitts Park, Wellington City, Wellington, North Island, New Zealand, Oceania - my bird hierarchies (a work in progress) which is simpler but full of synonyms, and a new one I’m working on for family members, so I can just enter a first name and get surname, relationship (sister, uncle, niece, etc).Īnd these are just as far as I have decided to take them. ![]() I type “ZK-NZF” and I get “ZK-NZF, ZK-NZF3, 787-9, 787, Boeing” then I type “NZAA” and I get “NZAA, Auckland International Airport” then I type “Air N” and select (probably from near the top of the auto-complete list if it’s been used recently) “Air New Zealand”. And that aircraft hierarchy is as it stands today - I still have a bunch of historic keywords in other versions of this which I need to move, plus there is frequently new stuff to add Then I have airfields and air operators (think airlines, air forces etc) – both of which are much simpler hierarchies, but many of which also have synonyms. Some are a bit shallower than that but always at least three levels and many contain synonyms. It is, in general, manufacturer, model, model variant, name, registration mark. My tagging is not so much categorisation as identification.īelow is a screen capture of about 500 lines from the 1308 lines in my hierarchy. I did try a similar sort of approach at first but drove myself crazy. #35mm #35mmfilm #analog #analogfeatures #analogphotography #analogue #analoguevibes #believeinfilm #buyfilmnotmegapixels #darkroom #filmcamera #filmcommunity #filmfeed #filmisalive #filmisnotdead #filmphoto #filmphotographer #filmphotographic #filmphotography #filmphotos #grainisgood #ishootfilm #istillshootfilm #keepfilmalive #shotonfilm #staybrokeshootfilm ![]() #portrait_ig #portrait_mood #portrait_page #portrait_perfection #portrait_planet #portrait_shot #portrait_shots #portrait_universe #portrait_vision #portraitphotography #portraitphotographyawards #portraitphotographys #portraits_ig #portraits_universe #portraitsession #portraitsfromtheworld #portraitshoot #portraitshot #portraitsmag #portraitsociety #portraitsociety #portraitsofficial #portraitsshots #portraitstream #portraitstudio #portraitstyles #portraitsvision #portraitsvisuals #portraiture #postthepeople Just start with a list of different type of photography you do then add your favourite #ashtags like the two example below, then you can just add specific one for the image you’re working on like name and location, done. Once any final JPEG is output, PhotoLab will include those keywords for me.Īn easy way for keywords is just to create a list in Notes (mac) or Words, sorry i forgot the one for Windows. Once I’ve put them in the folder and added my keywords, I write the keywords to file (a separate but easy task) and then open PhotoLab whereupon I refresh the folder and it has all the photos and all the keywords at its disposal. Now I will go back to the old system of “importing” them directly in Lightroom (note to self, turn off the automation!) which will put them directly into the year/month folder. Then in Luminar or PhotoLab I could drag them into the right year/month folder. ![]() In my Lightroom-less years between abandoning it as my main tool and now, I have simply had an automation copy new photos off my SD card into an “Auto Import” folder which is a sibling to all my year folders. Both of these file formats can have the keywords written directly into them, which is what I do. So all my images are DNG or JPEG (old stuff before I shot RAW). My camera shoots DNG natively and I went back and converted all my old Pentax PEF files to DNG (using Adobe DNG converter and Lightroom).
